 We are beginning the second decade of the Fulbright program in Ukraine appropriately enough with the launch of a new, updated, and more interactive Web page. There had been a few Fulbright scholars in and from Ukraine before 1992-3, but it was only in that year that a separate program for Ukraine was instituted. Just as this Web page, which builds upon an earlier one, so the Fulbright program builds upon earlier scholarly contacts between Ukraine and the United States...

 12th Annual Fulbright Alumni Conference Ukraine and the World: Yearning for Change
12th Annual Fulbright Alumni Conference “Ukraine and the World: Yearning for Change” took place in Kyiv on December 18 – 19, 2009. (ïåðåõ³ä íà ïðîãðàìó êîíôåðåíö³¿) During sessions and round tables more than 100 participants of the conference discussed the following issues: * Ukraine’s Status in the New World Order * Ukraine and Ukrainians in Global Context * Euro-Integration Aspirations of Ukraine * Adapting Ukrainian Legislation to EU Laws * New Challenges: Interdisciplinary Focus * Yuri Lutskyi: between Ukraine and the West (in commemoration of the scholar’s 90th anniversary) * Changes in Higher Education: Aspiration vs. Reality * Ukrainian Education and Scholarship: the Need for Reform * Education in Ukraine: Contemporary Status and Problems * Young People’s Yearning for Changes in Present – Day Ukraine and Personality Potential * Global Changes in Climate: Political, Scientific, Technological, Medical, Ecological, Legal and Ethical Aspects * The “Greening” of the Economy: New Challenges and Innovational Approaches Following the decision of the Ukrainian Fulbright Association meeting, papers of the participants of the conference will be publishes in a monograph. |
