Program Opportunities:

Program Description:
This program provides an opportunity for graduate students to combine study and independent research in a variety of ways: to earn a Master degree; to take advanced courses; to practice teaching through an assistantship in a university; research outside a degree program allows a student to specialize in a particular area; to re-qualify in a different area; or to broaden an academic perspective.
Eligibility & Requirements:
Ukrainian citizenship
Residence in Ukraine at the period of the contest
Master, Specialist or Bachelor degree at time of award (4th — 6th year students are eligible)
High level of proficiency in written and oral English
Qualify for a U.S. J-1 visa which requires returning to Ukraine for 2 years following program completion
At least five years since last participation in Fulbright Academic Exchange programs
You or an immediate family member are not an employee of the US Embassy, Fulbright Program, or other US mission in Ukraine supported by the US Department of State. This restriction applies for one year following termination of employment.

How to Apply:
By May 16, 2010 submit document packet:
completed application form,
3 letters of recommendation,
a copy of education diploma, class transcript and grades (for 4th and 6th year students copy of class records).
All forms in this application are to be completed in English and printed from a computer. The letters of recommendation should be written in English. If they are not, an English translation must be provided, preferably certified by the university's International Studies/Relations section. Letters of recommendation (and translations) must be submitted by the persons filling out the recommendations in sealed envelopes to the Fulbright Office or to the applicant. Copies of your certified academic documents should be in Ukrainian. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications can be downloaded or requested by e-mail from student@fulbright.com.ua. All documents must be submitted in English. The letters should be written in English if possible. If they are not, an original English translation must be provided. Copies of your certified academic documents (from each university or post-secondary institution attended, all your diplomas or certificates) should be in Ukrainian. All applicants should submit hard copies of the application. All supporting documents (university transcripts, reference letters, work samples, other documents) should be mailed to Fulbright Office with the application. We also require applications to be sent to the Fulbright Office electronically.
*TOEFL is the only required test for US admissions for law students
The Fulbright finalists will be approved by the Board of Fulbright Supervisors (BFS). Placements at U.S. universities will be finalized by April 2011.
The Fulbright Office in Kyiv will make all testing arrangements and cover all costs of the application, selection, and testing process (travel to and stay in Kyiv, exam fees, etc.). The Program will provide visa support for the grantees.
