Ukrainian Academic Institutions Wishing to Host a Senior Specialist

Ukrainian Academic Institutions interested in requesting a Fulbright Senior Specialist must make their request through the Fulbright Office.

The form for requesting a Fulbright Senior Specialist is available to Academic Institutions from the Fulbright Office. To request a form contact Veronica Aleksanych at valeksanych@fulbright.com.ua

Deadline for Receipt of Requests

Applications will be accepted and processed on a rolling basis. While the Senior Specialists Program is intended to be flexible and provide a relatively rapid response to field proposals, a lead-time of at least three-four months will insure the best result.

The Host Institution should send completed Fulbright Senior Specialist Program Request Application by e-mail or fax to the Fulbright Office (Attention: Veronica Aleksanych [valeksanych@fulbright.com.ua], Fax -044-230-20-60)

The Process

Step 1) Approval of project request by commission or embassy

The Fulbright Office approves project requests in accordance with the Fulbright Program in Ukraine. The Fulbright office works with the host institution to complete the request form. Host institutions may include the name of a preferred candidate on the form. However, it is important to note that this is not a promise of a grant to the preferred candidate. Other equally qualified candidates will also be considered for the grant opportunity.

Step 2) Approval of project request by Fulbright geographic branch at the Bureau of Education and Cultural Exchange of the Department of State.

Once the Fulbright office approves the program request, it submits the request to the Bureau of Education and Cultural Exchange at the Department of State for a second approval from the Fulbright geographic Branch.

Step 3) Matching of Fulbright Senior Specialists with project requests

CIES processes approved requests by contacting potential candidates to ascertain availability and, if necessary, requests an application from potential candidates. CIES then proceeds with both peer review and Fulbright Board approval. Qualified candidates are then sent to the host institution and the Fulbright Office for final selection.
