Application Deadline: May 16, 2010

About the Program

The International Fulbright Science and Technology (S&T) Award for outstanding foreign students, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, is designed to be among the most prestigious international scholarships in science and technology. The Fulbright S&T Award is for PhD study at top U.S. institutions in science, technology, or engineering. Recipients are chosen through a rigorous multi-tiered, merit-based selection process in their home countries followed by a field and discipline review by well-known U.S. academic leaders and researchers and final approval by the Fulbright Scholarship Board.

In 2008 through the efforts of Fulbright Commissions and U.S. Embassies in 70 countries, Institute of International Education (IIE) received 109 nominations in a wide variety of science, technology, and engineering fields. Pavlo Bohutskyi has been selected as a 2008-09 finalist from Ukraine for the prestigious International Fulbright Science and Technology Award.

For 2009-2010 academic year 43 awards have been competed worldwide for candidates who demonstrate unique aptitude and innovation in scientific fields.
