Publish or Perish: Academic Publishing and Peer‐Review Process in Social Sciences

The Fulbright Program in Ukraine is pleased to invite you to a presentation of the Journal of Ukrainian Politics and Society "Publish or Perish: Academic Publishing and Peer‐Review Process in Social Sciences" by Dr. Nadiya Kravets, to be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 6:00 p.m., at the Fulbright Office (20 Esplanadna Street, Suite 904, M "Palats Sportu", Kyiv).

Nadiya KRAVETS received her DPhil at the University of Oxford (Department of Politics and International Relations, St. Antony's College) in 2012. Her dissertation dealt with the domestic sources of Ukraine's foreign and security policy since independence and was funded by the IREX Title VIII program and the Open Society Foundation. She completed her B.A. in International Relations at San Francisco State University in 2005, followed by an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford. During 2011-2012 she was an Eugene and Daymel Shklar Research Fellow at the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, working on a monograph that is based on her dissertation. Currently she is a GIS Map of Ukraine Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard. Her areas of expertise and interest include theories of International Relations, Soviet and post-Soviet Russian foreign policy, foreign policy of the European Union, Ukraine's foreign and security policies, and relations between former Soviet republics.

The Journal of Ukrainian Politics and Society is a publication of the KRYTYKA INSTITUTE. It is the first peer-reviewed English journal that aims to aid the development of social sciences in Ukraine.
